Chrono-Script: Resin of Time
This installation artwork, crafted from resin, draws inspiration from the way amber captures and preserves traces of ancient life. In a similar manner, this piece seeks to "freeze" the evolution of Chinese civilization over five millennia—from the Qin, Han, Tang, Song, and Ming dynasties to the modern era.
Arranged in chronological order, each section of the work encapsulates the unique cultural essence of its respective dynasty. The core visual language of the piece is the transformation of Chinese characters across time. Writing, as one of the most enduring carriers of human civilization, bears witness to every epoch it has traversed. Through the solid clarity of resin, these characters become fossil-like impressions of historical memory—symbols of how culture evolves while remaining rooted in a continuous legacy.
This work invites the viewer to reflect on the permanence and fragility of history, and how our present moment is but another layer waiting to be preserved.
